Place Pulse quantitatively measures urban perception by turning visual preference surveys into crowdsourced games.
“Think of the site as ‘hot or not’ for cities. Users glance at a pair of photographs side by side, then click which one’s hotter or, in the official terms of the site, which one’s safer or more unique, or more upper-class. As each image is compared, a ranking of safety (or uniqueness or affluence) emerges. The Macro Connections group can then analyze and visualize those rankings to ask all sorts of fascinating questions: Are certain cities seen as wealthier than others and if so, why? What are the ramifications of segregated public housing? Does graffiti actually impact our perception of safety? Or are cities wasting their cash scrubbing buildings, when they could be investing in truly valuable public amenities, like trees?” - Fast Company

When you enter the Digital Life group at the Singtel headquarters in Singapore, you’re greeted by a kiosk and an LED waterfall that flows between opposing escalators. After you check in, and step on the escalator, a sensor detects your location and sends up fish to join you. At the top, there is a ‘fish tank’ made of an analog flip dot display coupled with 9x HD displays. Fish swim between the two tanks entertaining the guests while they wait. When a name is called, a shark will enter the tank from a random location scattering all the fish towards your awaiting host. Sensors in front of the screens allow people to interact with the tank directly as well. For instance, if you get close to the tank, the fish will scatter.
I was solely responsible for the escalator display and helped with some sensors and algorithm work for the larger installation at the top of the stairs.

In 2017, the cryptocurrency markets were exploding. Prices on many digital assets could double over night, and since cryptocurrencies trade on the global market, they are active 24 hours a day. Crypto Climate was originally created for day traders as a way to monitor and notify them of important indicator activity while away from their desk. Giving them their lives back and a sense of security.

Compromise is a fighter game built on the Ethereum blockchain using Magmo's Force Move Framework. Its retro pixel aesthetic nods to the cold war-esque tension of the 2018 political moment.
The game is a five-way Rock, Paper, Scissors featuring Trump, Putin, Stormy Daniels, Mueller, and an Average American. Players stake money before each fight. Every time you play as a character, a percentage of your bet is automatically donated to their associated real-world organization, and the power of every other character increases.
This creates a perverse equilibrium. The character everyone refuses to play as - because their identity or cause is repugnant - becomes the most powerful. Your power comes from how compromised you are. And that power lets you take money from players who kept their principles.
The blockchain makes it permanent. Your choice is on-chain, public, immutable. You can't hide who you played as.
I called it Compromise because the only way to beat others is to betray your own beliefs. The game rewards you for being the person willing to go where others won't - and then lets you extract wealth from the people who held the line. That's how it works in real life too.

Project involved complicated stakeholder management and 4 separate country teams. We developed a modular system that would work for the requirements of each country, while still maintaining a central corporate brand and information architecture.
